YOU CAN CLICK YOUR MOUSE ON MY FINISHED TAG AND DRAG IT DOWN THE PAGE WITH YOU AS YOU DO THE STEPS SO THAT YOU CAN REFER TO THE FINISHED COPY AS YOU FOLLOW MY TUTORIALS.

This tutorial is for making a wallpaper desk top calendar for your computer. You can click the image above to view the actual sized result. Written for Bonnie Sue :D

You will need PSP 10 (or any version)

A large wallpaper size image. Stock Xchng is awesome for these and that's where I got the image I used from.

My Zip folder - Includes my calendar template, frame and jpeg I used - Here

A font of your choice and tubes or brushes of your choice. This is a very easy tut and you'll be able to create something unique for yourself.

You can use my arrow to mark your place as you follow my tutorial. Just drag it with your mouse to the place that you are up to.

Put the frame in your psp frames folder. Open the jpeg in PSP and my calendar template.

1. Open a new blank canvas the same size as your computer resolution.

You will want to zoom out a few times so that you can see the entire canvas while you're working.

2. Flood fill your canvas with a background color. I used black. Paste the calendar template as a new layer on your canvas and position it where you want it to be. I left mine in the center. Add a new raster layer. Selections, select all. Paste your jpeg that you are using for your background into the selection. Selections select none and move the jpeg layer down in your palette so it is in the middle. Click on your template layer, and click your magic wand in the area outside of it. Selections, modify expand by 2 pixels.

3. Selections, invert. Click on your jpeg layer and right click in your palette and convert selection to layer. Then click back on your jpeg layer and hit delete on your keyboard. Selections, select none. This is how your palette should look.

4. Lower the opacity on your promoted selection layer to about 80%. Click on your template layer to make it active. Use your magic wand tolerance set to 0 and select the white lined area.

Choose a dark color from your jpeg background and flood fill your lines with the paint bucket. Selections, select none. Layers, merge visible.

5. Choose a font that you want to use for your days of the week and your dates. Depending on what font you use will determine the size. I used Verdana, size 28. Make sure that floating is selected.

6. Add a new raster layer for your dates and choose some colors that you want your text to be.

7. Type out your days of the week and position them with your mouse. Once you are happy with how they look you can add your dates. You should end up with something like this. This part can take a little while until you are happy with how it looks.

8. Apply a drop shadow using the following settings and a color of your choice (whatever looks best on your calendar)

9. Layers, merge visible. Image, picture frame. Select the Transparent 01 I included using the following settings.

10. Layers, merge visible. Use your magic wand again select the outer white border of your frame and flood fill it with a color from your calendar.

11. Selections, select none. Now click on the inner white border with your magic wand and apply the following drop shadow.

Apply the drop shadow again this time changing vertical to 5 and Horizontal to 0.

Selections, select none.

Now, the rest is up to you. You can add whatever text you like, maybe some brushes on important dates, or some tubes as decoration. Have fun with it.

Thanks for trying my tut I hope you enjoyed it.

Kisses and all that
